2. The Executive Council meeting on May 10, 2013 decided to increase the length of the school year from 18 weeks to 16+2 weeks in order to strengthen students’ independent and diversified learning, optimize course content, and align with the current situation of higher education abroad and domestic trends .
- Teachers are encouraged to re-plan their courses into a 16-week condensed course, or to use digital learning to fit the course into 16 weeks. All courses are designed to be completed in 16 weeks , with the final exam week set as the 16th week .
- "Flexible Learning Week" is a transitional measure for the 16-week semester. If students are overwhelmed by the assessment courses for the required national examination subjects, they can temporarily make up for the lessons during the "Flexible Learning Week". However, it is strongly recommended that the lessons be taught remotely and will not be counted in the final examination score .
- Each teacher should clearly indicate the arrangement of the “Flexible Learning Week” in the course schedule so that students can be informed.
- The classrooms for the 17th and 18th weeks will not be open for the original courses. If you need them, please borrow them through the venue rental system.
3. Course Outline and Teaching Schedule :
In order to comply with the evaluation requirements of the Ministry of Education and the needs of students for course selection, all teaching teachers must complete the course outline and schedule online before students pre-select courses, so that students can check before course selection (the course selection system has a direct link to query). The system is expected to open on 5/8 (W3) and close at 5:00 pm on 6/7 (W5) . All teaching teachers must complete the input within the deadline . In addition, if you find that the teaching time is incorrect, the input format does not match, or there are system-related problems, please contact the Course Affairs Section of the Academic Affairs Office (contact information is as follows).
*To request revisions and mid-term maintenance schedules, please refer to the Course Schedule Maintenance System Operation Manual.
4. Response to the final examination assessment method:
- The reply to the final exam evaluation method will be available on the web at 9:00 am on 10/21 (W1) and will be closed at 5:00 pm on 11/14 (W4) . Website: https://newacademic.tmu.edu.tw/ (Reply from the main teacher)
- Only apply for compulsory courses . If the school arranges the exams in a centralized manner, please do not change the schedule after it is announced . If the school does not arrange the exams in a centralized manner, please be sure to check "No, centralized exam arrangement".
- During the final exam week, classrooms with 2-digit and 9-digit numbers (except 9705) will be suspended: The final exam week is from 12/23 to 12/27 . Classes will be suspended during this period because the school will schedule unified exams (classrooms with 2-digit and 9-digit numbers are the unified exam venues, so classes or borrowing will not be allowed); please choose a date to hold the final exam for elective courses (please do not schedule it during the unified exam schedule to avoid crowds).
- Starting from the 111th academic year, the "make-up exams" will be arranged by the main teachers themselves.
5. Generative AI tools will be a major trend in future development. Our school takes a positive attitude to encourage teachers to use generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT) to develop more technologically innovative teaching methods to improve teaching. In order to help teachers cope with the teaching impact brought by ChatGPT, the curriculum department website provides guidance for reference by all teachers in the school.
